Joe Lapchick was the legendary basketball figure whose career as a professional player, collegiate and professional coach spans fifty years of the critical development of the game. Twice inducted into the Hall-of-Fame Joe Lapchick is noted as an Original Celtic player, and coach of St. John's University, and the New York Knickerbockers.

Gus Alfieri was a starting point guard for Coach Lapchick at St. Johns University where they won the 1959 Holiday Festival and National Invitation Tournament.

Gus's next book deals with his state championship St. Anthony's team from 1974 that was the number one team in New York State. Gus is calling his next book, "Once in a Lifetime, The Confessions of a Basketball Coach"
